Further Information

The transmission of each of the E1 tributary channels is independent. The Optimux-134 features a single-mode/multimode fiber optic network port or a coax E3 uplink interface. On the user side, the Optimux-134 supports a Fast Ethernet port enabling a full 100 Mbps Ethernet connection, in addition to the capacity of the 16 E1 channels.
Optimux-134 and Optimux-125 are fully compatible with Optimux-25/34

Link redudancy
Optimux-134 and Optimux-125 provide optional additional hot-swappable power supply and uplink for redundancy. Upon link failure, the unit automatically switches to an optional second uplink as a backup.
Various interfaces (based on SFP transceivers) are available for both the active and the backup uplinks:
- Electrical via coax (SMB) connector (34 Mbps mode operation only)
- 1310 nm short or long-haul laser and 1550 nm long-haul laser interfaces for extended range over single-mode fiber
- Single fiber interface using WDM technology, with the laser transmit signal at a different wavelength than the receive signal (1310 nm and 1550 nm).

Management options
Optimux-134 and Optimux-125 feature flexible management capabilities, including local management via an ASCII terminal (RS-232). In addition, remote management can be performed either inband or out-of-band, using the network or user ports, while maintaining separation between management and user traffic via the use of VLANs. Advanced FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Administration, Performance, Security), service provisioning and diagnostic tools are provided by RADview-SC/TDMoIP, RAD?s network management system, via an SNMP-based GUI.
The devices also support a variety of access protocols, including Telnet, SNMP, Web server. Optimux-125 is a compact, 1U-high unit. Optimux-134 is available in a 1U-high version with balanced E1 interface, and RJ-45 connectors, or a 2U-high version with unbalanced E1 interface, and BNC or IEC-169/13 connectors.
